Apple Supports only their own Airport Extreme cards.
But
Any Broadcom-based PCI or card cus card will work.
Check out http://www.osxhax.com
Look around the forums for cards that are known to work.
I am using a Belkin 54g card bus card on my Powerbook G4 right now.
Couldn't (easily.;-) find anything there, do you know some cards I should look for? Any list available of compatible cards?

OWC (OtherWorld Computers) is currently selling an external (PMCIA) card that is 802.11g compliant for $49. With OS X (v10.2.6) and the latest Airport software, it is absolutely plug-and-play in my Pismo.

Doorstop B&W? That's my main computer :(
However, I like this idea a lot. It would cut out the need for a router and the base station, freeing up 2 outlets. I've got a graphite base station that's makes life difficult for setting up mail/file server access from the outside. I suppose there are some security advantages.

Be aware that a wireless card in the PCI slot will NOT work with the Biege G3s. It has to do with the PCI version that the Biege G3s support. I can't remember the details, but I think that they support PCI 1.0 and the wireless cards require PCI 1.1
I've been doing it for months.
Maybe Revisions A only are PCI 1.0 compatible and only the later revisions are 1.1 ?
Best regards,

I'm using the LinkSys WMP54G PCI card in a 300MHZ Beige G3 without single hitch. Good to go right out of the box!
Be sure you know of what you speak.
Vpn connect for mac. On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Preferences, then click Network.
Hi;
This is great. Did you have to install any drivers for the mac to use the Linksys card? I had heard that Linksys cards were incompatible with Apple chips. I guess your success proves that wrong! I love to be able to use a Linksys card, since my wireless router is also Linksys.

Which operating system are you running?
Does it work in Classic or Mac OS 9.2.2?
I've been tied to an ethernet cable since the OSX beta made my Skyline PCI card unusable on my trusty G3 AIO. I installed a Linksys WMP54G Wireless-G PCI Adapter (about $60) and got full Airport 802.11g functionality. Internet sharing both to and from wireless, Create Networks, even the signal strength menu icon. Configuration from the Airport tab in the Network Preference Panel. It all worked right out of the box with OS 10.2.7. Not waiting for those long-promised Skyline drivers anymore.

Looks like it depends on your rev of Beige G3.
This link is for a PCI 802.11 product and they have a list of systems that don't work with the wireless PCI card:
http://www.devdepot.com/description.html?PCODE=HMWPCI
and how to tell if your system is on the list.
I was unable to get a 10/100 Asante card to work in my Beige G3, and there it is in the list of non-working system.
